Ganking

December 12th 2008 02:40
Everyone knows that ganking happens in WoW on the PVP servers. This I have no problems with. It's those gankers that think it cool or necessary or fun to sit and camp you and not let you accomplish anything for hours on end. Why? What's in it for them?

For the one bein' ganked it's nothing but heartache and headaches and frustration. It's nothing but wanting to eventually quit the game because there is no enjoyment in not being able to play the game.

Most argue it's a pvp server, don't like it go to a pve server. My problem with this is that some of usl ike th pvp servers, we just don't care for the jerks that take the pvp one step too far. Camping 1 person 30 levels below you for 3 hours is not pvp, it's just plain torture. It's taking enjoyment away from someone else with nothing personal to gain from it.

I'll rant more on it later. Comments are always welcome.. I'd love to see some response and feelings on it.

Leveling in Wrath of the Lich King

December 10th 2008 16:49
Well of course it's been almost a full month now since the expansion to WoW, Wrath of the Lich King, has been released. What a job done by Blizzard. The quests are more interesting with more involvement needed by the players on a lot of them outside of the typical go here kill this come back quests. There's more story line to it. It goes deeper and gives more of a background to it.

The encounters too are interesting ranging from siege engines for the horde quest in Borean Tundra to the quest in Dragonblight where the npc compels you to jump off a cliff. I am not yet quite 73 but then I've had the xpansion only a week (on this acct) and I'm taking my time. I want to fully explore everything and enjoy the expansion rather than rush through it. I don't see a point in rushing just to hit 80 and sit around.

So far I've completed all 150 quests in the Tundra and got that achievement; however, I still have a quest to complete for it which makes me wonder really how many quests there are in the Borean Tundra. Also begs to wonder if the other zones are the same way, the achievement is gotten by completing a certain number of quests but there are more quests than that number.

What I can't wait for is to be doing heroics and raids again. I love that aspect of WoW and am ready to experience the new end game content they have. I have heard stories about some of the encounters in the 25 man raids and now I want to see it for myself. But first..I have to level.

So the dilemma here is rush through leveling to see end game content or take my time in leveling and then behind the curve in raiding.

Welcome Aboard!

December 9th 2008 18:17
Welcome to my WoW Gamer blog. Here I will be talking about everything World of Warcraft including the online game, the card game, the board game and the all new minitaures game. Most of my conversation will deal with the online game and the trials and successes of my adventures in wow as well as game updates and tips.

To give a little background on myself, I've been gaming on WoW since the very first day of release and currently run 4 accounts. I'm married with 4 kids (entire family plays wow), work full time and go to school. I've been a gamer for the last eh I'd say 24 years . My first computer game was pong on the Commodore 64 (yep I dated myself). So far, I have found that WoW is the closest game I can find online wise to hold my interest for as long as it has.

Anyway check back with me later for more.

My previous post regarding GTA made me think far too much regarding what the world considers to be THE best video game of all time. So I'm going to throw the doors open to the Orble community and ask that very same question to you, thy faithful readership, to find out once and for all...

The Year Ahead

January 13th 2008 08:01
Is it me, or is the year ahead not going to be as good as the year gone by? Smash Brothers Brawl will lead the charge, but a majority of the big name titles of 2008 so far doesn't seem to hold as big an interest as those of 07.

Having said that, there's plenty to still talk about. Besides Brawl, the other most anticipated title that (cross the fingers) won't be too much long to wait for is Spore, Will Wrights next big thing. Ever since watching Robin Williams play Spore nearly two years ago, this has been on my must play list

Ok so I've told you all the fine points for making this Christmas the best for any gamer (well, almost any), but now it's time to tell you what NOT to buy ... because, let's face it, there's so much terrible, terrible stuff out there that just doesn't deserve to be looked at.

With every Halo, there's a 'I want to be just like it', and Blacksite: Area 51 is this years perfect example. It's a typical FPS that brings nothing new or exciting, and for the same amount of cash spent, you can have a far more enjoyable time playing said Halo 3 or Bioshock, among others. It's like a cheap Gears of War clone with little meat to the bones. As is Clive Barker's Jericho, another shocker of a release that had so much potential

Calling all Gamers

December 13th 2007 10:34
Gamemonger is on the look out for some new team members, specifically those who want their thoughts on the gaming industry to be heard. You need a little writing experience, obviously, and a passion for all forms of gaming ... hell even monopoly, if you're so inclined.

Now remember, this little site isn't about gaming reviews, but it IS all about opinions. There's plenty of ideas that I'd like to explore, but I can't do it all by my lonesome, hence I'm calling out for a little help

Christmas Gaming Ideas - Buyers Guide

December 4th 2007 11:08
It's Part III, and this time I'm taking a look at the games that should be on your must by list. Most you'll know, but some you may be surprised to see...

Bioshock - I haven't chosen a game of the year as yet (I'll make that choice later), but this one's right up there. There's no multiplayer options, but unlike some experiences, you don't need that option here. It's imaginative, beautiful to watch and perfectly balanced. It's on PC and 360, and being a few months old, you might be able to pick this one up even cheaper than it's original RRP

Christmas Gaming Ideas

November 17th 2007 01:08
No matter where you turn, you know it's christmas at this time of the year. Whether it be the old decorations gracing the same spots they always have in your local shopping centre, or the dreaded S. Clause coming out of hibernation. Or, worse, the constant stream of bad music pumped out of those tiny mono speakers ... I shudder just thinking about that.

Anyway, the good news is, you're spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing your fellow gamer (or yourself, go on, admit it) a present to spend the holiday season on. But there's a few bargains out there that shouldn't be overlooked, so over the next few weeks, I'll be hunting around and giving you all some ideal suggestions ... just in case you really are stuck for thought

LucasArts & BioWare Together Again

October 31st 2007 08:24
It's all about the RPG's for Bioware, and now they have yet another project to add to the growing pile. What makes this new announcement so interesting is who they're working with.

Having joined the Electronic Arts stable just days ago, BW's next partner is none other then LucasArts, an old friend who politely lent the Star Wars license a few years back for the highly rated Knights of the Old Republic. Straight away, thoughts of the much anticipated third title in the series sprung to mind, but there seems to be just a little bit more to this story then first suggested
